Ron and Myrna Ghitter
Founders
Ron and Myrna have built their lives in Alberta and have a deep connection to the community. Ron has had the opportunity to be involved in human rights policies over his career as an MLA, Senator and advocate.
As avid world travellers who have witnessed the repercussions where human rights are not protected, both Ron and Myrna are keenly aware of the privilege and opportunities they have here in Alberta and Canada. Together they are committed to human rights education and advocacy as a way of protecting and enriching our province.
Cori Ghitter, KC
CEO
Cori is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ron and Myrna Ghitter Foundation (RMGF), a charitable foundation focused on human rights education and advocacy as well as youth engagement in sport and the arts.
Prior to joining RMGF, Cori was the Deputy Executive Director and Director of Policy and Education at the Law Society of Alberta. In this role, she worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer to support the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She was also responsible for overseeing much of the strategic work of the organization emanating from the Education and Policy departments.
Cori was born and raised in Calgary. She received her LLB in 1994 from the University of Calgary, her LLM in 2000 from the University of British Columbia and her King’s Counsel designation in 2022.
Cori was the recipient of the 2021 Women in Law Leadership (WILL) award for Leadership in the Profession (Broader Roles). She chaired the Board of Directors of Vibrant Communities Calgary and is currently Chair of the Board of the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED). Cori is also a member of the Board of Directors for Momentum, an organization dedicated to reducing poverty through the development of a more inclusive local economy.
Danny Da Costa
Board Member
Danny Da Costa has worked in the tennis and racquet industry for over 30 years, in a variety of leadership roles. A transformative leader, he brings a wealth of sport leadership, facility management, event and executive leadership.
As the CEO of OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre (ATC), Danny Da Costa continues to infuse his deep-seated love for sport and extensive leadership experience into fostering a thriving tennis community. Through his leadership, he has built the ATC from a start-up into one of Canada’s leading tennis facilities. He remains an inspiring figure dedicated to the growth, development, and success of the sport he cherishes.
His professional experiences include running provincial and national sport organizations, organizing world-class sporting events, including hosting sold-out professional and world-championship events. He is actively involved with Tennis Canada’s Tennis Professional Association National Advisory Committee and currently sits as a Director for Tennis Newfoundland & Labrador. In 2022, he was bestowed with Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal by the Government of Alberta for his work improving the lives of Albertans through sport.
Bailey Rivard, CPA, CA∙IFA, CBV, CFE, CFF
Board Member
Bailey Rivard is a partner with MNP LLP in the Valuations, Forensics and Litigation Support Services group in Calgary and has more than 20 years of accounting experience. Since 2008, her practice has focused on forensic and investigative accounting and litigation support for complex and sensitive matters.
She conducts financial investigations, forensic accounting reviews, and loss quantification calculations for corporations, owner-managed businesses, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations. She also works with legal counsel on estate, family law, and civil litigation disputes, including business valuations. Bailey has authored expert reports and qualified as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Alberta Court of King's Bench, the Social Security Tribunal, and in private mediations and arbitrations. She is a frequent speaker on forensic accounting topics across Canada.
Bailey holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA/CA). She holds designations as a CA-designated specialist in Investigative and Forensic Accounting (CA•IFA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF).
Active in her community, Bailey has volunteered on numerous boards, including Closer to Home Community Services and Alberta Law Libraries. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, two teenage sons, and their two dogs.
Sonia Héroux, FSA, FCIA
Board Member
Sonia is an accomplished actuarial and business leader with extensive expertise in human resources, strategic planning, risk management, and financial analysis. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for combining analytical rigour with collaborative leadership to support sound decision-making, organizational effectiveness, and long-term strategic planning.
Most recently, Sonia served as Project Manager for large-scale Human Resources initiatives at Enbridge, where she led complex cross-functional projects and supported enterprise-wide organizational priorities. Her career has been defined by a strong ability to translate complex quantitative and operational information into clear business insights and practical solutions.
A Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), Sonia brings a disciplined, analytical perspective to governance and strategic oversight. She is recognized for her sound judgment, collaborative approach, and ability to build strong relationships across executive, operational, and technical teams.
Based in Calgary, Sonia recently retired after a distinguished career marked by professionalism, integrity, and meaningful contribution. She remains actively engaged in her community and enjoys spending time with her husband of 29 years and their three adult children.
